This year’s trip to Honduras reminded us that the mission is about so much more than what we can build or give. We went with a desire to serve, but throughout the week, God used the people, relationships, and experiences to work in our hearts as well.
As we look back on the homes built, families served, prayers shared, and relationships strengthened, we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who prayed, gave, and helped make this mission possible. We hope this report gives you a glimpse into what God did throughout the week and the lives impacted along the way.

Traveling Together
For us, the mission started before we ever arrived in Honduras. Nineteen of us traveled together, some returning and others experiencing the country for the first time.
As we made our way toward Choluteca, we saw living conditions that were very different from what many of us were used to. But what caught us off guard wasn’t what people lacked. It was their joy. We saw people working, laughing, smiling, and enjoying one another, and it immediately began challenging our own perspective on gratitude and what it means to have enough.
Building Homes
By the time we arrived at each home, local Honduran workers had already laid the foundation, built the block walls, and installed the roof. From there, we worked together in small teams to measure, cut, carry, and install the doors and windows.
Over five build days, we completed our work on eight homes. But what we remember most isn’t just the number. It’s the families and children who were right there with us while we worked. Those relationships continually reminded us that we weren’t simply there to finish a project. We were there to serve people.
House Dedications
For many of us, the home dedications were the moments we’ll remember most.
We watched families prepare their new homes before everyone gathered inside. We shared Scripture, prayed together, worshiped, and placed the keys into the hands of each homeowner. Then we listened as families shared how long they had prayed for that moment.
There were tears, hugs, laughter, and an overwhelming amount of gratitude. We came to Honduras hoping to bless these families, but standing in those homes reminded us how much God was teaching us through the people we came to serve.
Serving the Community
Our time in Honduras became about much more than building homes.
Together, we distributed more than 4,000 pounds of rice and beans, spent time with children and families, helped provide beds and mattresses, and simply looked for opportunities to meet needs wherever we could.
Some of the moments that stayed with us were incredibly simple: handing someone food, making a child smile, praying with a family, or spending time with people in the villages. Those moments reminded us that serving isn’t always complicated. Sometimes it’s simply being willing to love the person God has put in front of you.
Worship & Prayer
Every morning, before we picked up a tool or headed into the villages, we gathered around the breakfast table. A different man would share Scripture, talk about what God was doing in his life, and pray over the day ahead.
That spirit of prayer continued everywhere we went. We prayed with homeowners, gathered around people who needed encouragement, and worshiped alongside families during the home dedications. One of the biggest reminders for us was that we didn’t bring God to Honduras. God was already there. We went hoping to encourage others, and many of us came home with our own faith strengthened.
