We believe that service is not just an act of kindness, but an act of worship. By building homes, restoring communities, and meeting tangible needs, we demonstrate the hope and love of Christ in ways people can see and feel.
Our mission is rooted in Matthew 25:40: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

From One Man’s CallingHow It All Began
Gene Bendall had a burden not just to preach the Gospel, but to live it. Through years of hands-on service and a heart for local and global missions, Layman for Christ was born out of his obedience to God’s call to equip ordinary people to do extraordinary things for the Kingdom. His vision continues to guide everything we do.
What began as a small group of men committed to serving their local community has grown into a network of people dedicated to living out the Gospel. Layman for Christ exists to make the love of Jesus tangible — through service, discipleship, and presence.
